Zentralbild Link 6.6.1966-Ostseestadt Rostock. Die im Mittelalter eine führende Rolle spielende Hansestadt Rostock wurde im II. Weltkrieg durch Luftangriffe zu 40% zerstört. Nach 1945 vollzog sich eine starke wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im gesamten Bezirk Rostock. Die Ostseestadt erhielt einen Überseehafen, auf dem 1965 sechs Millionen Tonnen umgeschlagen wurden. Die Schauerleute haben erstmalig sechsmal mehr Güter transportiert als 1935 in den vier kleinen Ostseehäfen des heutigen DDR-Territoriums zusammen. Der größte Umschlaghafen der DDR wird gleichzeitig als Transithafen von der CSSR, Ungarn, Bulgarien und Österreich benutzt. Rostock ist zugleich Standort der Schiffbauindustrie, der Hochsee- und Fischereiflotte der Fischverarbeitung. Alljährlich wird die Ostseestadt Rostock von tausenden in- und ausländischen Gästen besucht, die sich an Ort und Stelle vom schnellen Aufbau der Hafenstadt überzeugen können. UBz: Die "Rosa Luxemburg-Straße", Verkehrs- und Einkaufszentrum Rostocks. Im Hintergrund das Steintor, das zu den Resten der spätgotischen Stadtbefestigung gehört. |
