For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Chemnitz, Stadtzentrum Zentralbild Gahlbeck 20.7.1966 Bre-Ri. Neuaufbau des Stadtzentrums von Karl-Marx-Stadt. Allein für den Neuaufbau des Stadtzentrums mit seinen achtgeschossigen Wohnblocks, repräsentativen Verwaltungs- und Institutsgebäuden (im Bild links) sowie modernen Geschäften wurden bisher weit über 150 Millionen Mark aufgewendet. Das zweite von insgesamt drei 15geschossigen Hochhäusern (im Bild rechts) wurde kürzlich im Rohbau fertiggestellt.
