In einem festlichen Staatsakt im Amtssitz des Staatsrates der DDR nahm der Vorsitzende des Staatsrates der DDR, Walter Ulbricht, in Anwesenheit führender Persönlichkeiten den Bericht der Zentralen Abstimmungskommission über das Ergebnis des Volksentscheides entgegen und verkündete feierlich die durch das Volk am 6. April beschlossene Verfassung der DDR.
