For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Nacht ADN-ZB Sindermann 23.12.72 Rostock: Auch während der Feiertage drehen sich im Rostocker Überseehafen die Kräne, Schiffe vieler Nationen, die im größten Seeumschlagplatz der DDR festgemacht haben, bringen ihre Fracht und holen neue Ladung. Die Umschlagsarbeiter des Rostocker Überseehafens wollen in diesem Jahr erstmalig 13 Millionen Tonnen Güter umschlagen und mit ihren hohen Leistungen einen guten Planstart für 1973 sichern.
