For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Freiberg, Dom Unser Lieben Frauen, Goldene Pforte ADN-ZB Thieme 13.11.1976 Bez. Karl-Marx-Stadt: Die Goldene Pforte des Doms zu Freiberg ist eines der bedeutendsten deutschen Beispiele für die umfassende Verbindung von Architektur und Plastik. Schüler aus Döbeln (Foto) gehören zu den Tausenden Besuchern, die alljährlich den Dom und die übrigen Sehenswürdigkeiten Freibergs besichtigen. Die um 1230 errichtete Goldene Pforte ist älter als der Dom, dessen Langhaus nach einem Brand von 1484 neu errichtet wurde. Der Dom wird mit staatlicher Unterstützung gepflegt und erhalten. Die letzte Restaurierung wurde 1971 beendet. (siehe auch R1113-0013 und R1113-0014)
