Illus-dpd Veit Harlan freigesprochen Nach fast achtwöchiger Verhandlung, die sich zu einer grundsätzlichen Auseinandersetzung über die Frage der künstlerischen Verantwortung entwickelte, fällte das Hamburger Schwurgericht am 23-4-49 vormittags das Urteil gegen Veit Harlan, den Regisseur des umstrittenen Films "Jud Süss"- und sprach ihn frei. Hamburg, Veit Harlan after trial

Illustration-dpd Veit Harlan acquitted After a trial of nearly eight weeks, which developed into a fundamental discussion about artistic responsibility, the Hamburg Criminal Court delivered its verdict concerning Veit Harlan, director of the controversial film "Jud Süß", on the morning of April 23, 1949 - and acquitted him. Our picture shows Veit Harlan as leaves the court building on the shoulders of his supporters. April 23, 1949 3155-49-49
