Im Rahmen der von der DDR eingeleiteten Prozesse gegen die aus den Internierungslagern übernommenen Kriegsverbrechen und Nazi-Aktivisten begannen am 20.6.50 im Rathaussaal von Waldheim/Sachsen die ersten Verhandlungen.
Zahlreiche Delegationen der Betriebe, sowie Vertreter der in- und ausländischen Presse nahmen an diesen Prozessen teil.
Hauptverhandlung am 21.6.50 gegen den 44-jährigen Ernst Heinicker aus Dresden.
Er wurde überführt, als Sturmführer der SA und stellvertretender Lagerkommandant des Konzentrationslagers Hohenstein in der Zeit von September 1933 bis Juli 1934 an Ermordungen, Folterungen und sonstigen Grausamkeiten an politischen Häftlingen teilgenommen zu haben.
Das Urteil lautet nach Kontrollratsgesetz Nr. 10 und Direktive 38 auf Todesstrafe wegen Verbrechens gegen die Menschlichkeit.
