For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Magdeburg, Plastik Zum Beitrag: Fährmann, hol über – Die Fährstellen in der Elbestadt Magdeburg ADN-ZB Sturm 19.6.78 Plastik des Fährmanns an Magdeburgs Elbuferpromenade. Die fünf Meter hohe Stale an der Kaimauer ist eine der zahlreichen Skulpturen, die die malerische Anlage schmücken. Hoch über dem Strom, sinnbildlich jeder Flut trotzend, trägt sie in einem stilisierten Nachen die überlebensgroße Gestalt des Fährmanns. Schöpfer dieser Plastik ist der Bildhauer Eberhard Roßdeutscher, für den die Geste des Übersetzens eine friedliche, völkerverbindende Symbolik hat. "Arbeit, Handel und Kultur über Jahrhunderte, über natürliche wie über Ländergrenzen." (Beachten Sie hierzu auch T0619-300N, 302N-304N) |
