For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Schindler-3.9.81-Berlin: Bessere Wohnverhältnisse- Im Neubaugebiet Straße der Befreiung im Stadtbezirk Lichtenberg werden bis 1983 etwa 3 500 Wohnungen neu gebaut und 540 rekonstruiert. Insgesamt verbesserten sich seit 1971 in der Hauptstadt für über 360 000 Bürger die Wohnbedingungen.

Das Bild zeigt die Nordseite der heutigen Straße Alt-Friedirchsfelde, zwischen Robert-Uhlig-Straße (links) und Rhinstraße. Die Plattenbauten im Hintergrund sind vom Typ QP-64, entlang der Straße Rosenfelder Ring. Die Häuser haben mit Stand September 2012 noch immer ihre originalen Fassaden bewahrt (die meisten Fenster sind inzwischen ersetzt worden).
