Naturschutzgebiet Steckby-Lödderitzer Forst ADN-ZB Link 24.10.1981 Bezirk Magdeburg: Auenwald-Naturschutzgebiet - Das bedeutendste Auenwald-Naturschutzgebiet Mitteleuropas, der Steckby-Lödderitzer Forst, wurde von der UNESCO im November 1979 als Biosphären-Reservat anerkannt. Es ist eines von über 150 Reservaten des internationalen Umweltüberwachungssystems, das dem Studium der Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Mensch und Umwelt dient. Die naturnahme Aue (X), eine Niederungslandschaft im Übergangsbereich vom atlantischen zum kontinentalen Klima mit einer reichhaltigen Pflanzen- und Tierwelt, ist charakteristisch für dieses Reservat. Das Biosphären-Reservat "Naturschutzgebiet Steckby-Lödderitzer Forst" wird von Mitarbeitern des Instituts für Landschaftsforschung und Naturschutz der Akademie der Landwirtschaftswissenschaften in Zusammenarbeit mit ehrenamtlichen Naturschutzhelfern betreut. Unser Bild entstand am Altwasser der Elebe im Lödderitzer Teil des Naturschutzgebietes. (X) Eiche, Esche, Ulme Feldahorn, Schwarzpappel, Wildapfel- und birne sind typsch für den Auernwald.
