Summary[edit]

Description

Burlingham of Blackpool made the coachwork for this AEC Reliance of Mulley's Motorways of Ixworth. I never imagined that this vehicle would become a museum piece years later. It may be seen here in restored 21st century condition...on its 50th birthday, perhaps? www.flickr.com/photos/25822809@N02/2474905109/ Mulley took over the business of Corona Coaches which operated from this depot in Acton, Sudbury, Suffolk. As at Ixworth, there was a reluctance to remove old vehicles from the premises.

This vehicle, when with its original owners, Flights of Birmingham, was the team coach used by the successful 1957 FA Cup winning team of Aston Villa, whose ground was not very far away from the Lozells (or was it Nechells) base of the operator.
