Kenya's longest and oldest train tunnel

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This the 'haunted' Buxton Tunnel in Limuru,

It is one of the longest and oldest train tunnels in Kenya.

The infamous tunnel done in 1940s is part of legendary “Lunatic Express” itself completed in 1901.

The tunnel is estimated to be around 2 kilometres, and attracts adventure-seekers from around the country and beyond.

Standing at the entrance, a small light can be seen emanating from the end of the tunnel, bringing the figure of speech to life. Few visitors, however, venture 50-100 meters into the tunnel.
