English: A yellow vandon banner with a Greek cross potent and four discs (or circles) shown in a museum along with a Byzantine tagma cavalryman in full armour. According to the historian A. Babuin, the flags with crosses quartered by gold discs were from the 10th century, and from the beginning of the 13th century is a depiction of a flag almost identical to the Palaiologos known symbolism. |
