| Description |
Nederlands: Negatief. De Bataks hadden een hiërarchisch geordende samenleving met een adel die vaak slaven hield. Het hier afgebeelde grote huis met zijn vele versierde gevels is dat van een hoofd die er zijn 'extended family' (wat we vroeger met een fraai germanisme 'grootfamilie' noemden) ondergebracht (en vroeger zijn slaven). De twee dwars op elkaar staande daken met puntgevels zijn typerend voor de Karo-Bataks. Links van het grote huis staat een ossuarium (knekelhuisje) voor de voorouderlijke schedels. (P.
