Description
Nederlands: Stoel. Houten hoekstoel met rotan zitting en gedeeltelijke rugleuning.

Deze hoekstoel uit het tweede kwart van de 18e eeuw vindt zijn oorsprong vermoedelijk bij de Chinese Lohanstoel met ronde rugleuning uit de Ming- of Qingdynastie. Chinese meubelmakers in Indonesië noemden dit meubeltype de 'krossie bakoe', mandstoel.

Onderhavig exemplaar is gevonden in de Molukken waar het dienst deed als erezetel voor de stadhouder van de Sula-eilanden. Het type is terug te vinden in Europa en op de Kaap, waar hij wordt omschreven als hoek- of bureaustoel (Geijn-Verhoeven et. al., 2002:91).. Hoekstoel uit de V.O.C.-periode
