English: (HL4)HONOLULU,Mar.9-RESCUED REDS-Russian Army Private Philip Poplavski (left) gestures to interpreter Chief Aviation Mechanic Philip Kaznetzoff, of Detroit, Mich., as he tells how he and three other Soviet soldiers survived 49 days adrift in Pacific on small landing craft. M/Sgt. Victor Zygonschi,22, (center) listens. Four Soviets are in sick bay aboard U.S. aircraft carrier Kearsarge, which rescued them Sunday. The carrier is due San Francisco about Mar. 15. Soviets said they ate shoe leather to survive.
