Description
Català: Caixeta hostier, segle XV, anònim valencià; ivori, bronze i encastat de cristalls; 19,8 x 11,5 cm, museu catedralici de Sogorb.

Consta d'un cos circular d'ivori, sense decoració, excepte unes simples línies a manera d'anells als extrems i a tres quarts d'altura. Quatre suports a manera de ganxo, dentats en el seu interior i amb rematada en lliri. A la tapa, cercle de bronze amb aplics de pedres seminobles enfilades. Pom central amb fulles i rematada de pedra i una anseta. Pany del mateix material, amb aplic foliat dalt, igual que els dos suports i franges laterals.

De possible origen hispano-àrab, atenent les seues característiques i la manca d'ornamentació religiosa sembla indubtable que es tracta d'un objecte d'ús civil, potser de joier, sent posteriorment destinada a contenir formes o relíquies.
