| Description |
English: Built circa 1820, this Greek Revival-style house was once the home of the Caldwell and Wright families, and was moved from its original location in 1912, on the site of the Zaccheus Wright Mansion, and to its present site in 1952 to prevent demolition. The house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a side-gable roof, two one-story ells on either side of the two-story central wing, red brick chimneys at the ends of the central wing, nine-over-nine and nine-over-six double-hung windows, a two-story front portico with rectilinear columns, a front-gable roof, wooden railings, and a second-story porch, a red brick base, and doors at the central bays of the front facade with transoms. The house is a contributing structure in the Caldwell Street Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. |
