Summary
[edit]DescriptionCaloplaca adnexa - Flickr - pellaea (1).jpg |
Deadwood Peak, Mokelumne Wilderness, California, 20140628, #6518 pers. herb. This is a common parasitic species in the alpine throughout the Great Basin region, usually on dark Aspicilia spp. like this. It is rarely fertile. The surface is often roughened like this, but usually not sufficiently roughened that one might call it isidiate (see C. wetmorei, for example). Best name I can find for it is C. adnexa, but I can't find a good description of that species. |
