Description
Français : Canal de Berry à Saint-Amand Montrond, Cher, vue O-E.

Aménagé entre début et mi-XIXe s. au petit gabarit berrichon (27,5 x 2,6 m, port max. 60 t), il est déclassé en 1955. On est loin des dimensions Freycinet, 38,5 x 5,05 m, port de 250 à 400 t, normes d’une grande part du réseau fluvial français, un peu plus tard !

Ses 3 branches cumulées, représentent 320 km de voies d’eau.

Celle traversant la ville, dite sud et qui opère un large coude, vient de Montluçon, Allier.
