Description
Deutsch: Eine Strandkrabbe am Westende der Nordseeinsel Wangerooge. Das Tier ist wahrscheinlich tot. Zu seiner linken Seite sind im Lee des vorherrschenden Wasserstromes Auswaschungsrinnen und kleine Auskolkungen entstanden. Das Tierchen hat sich wahrscheinlich längere Zeit nicht bewegt. Das aber ist für gesunde Strandkrabben sehr ungewöhnlich.
Würde diese Situation später zu Stein fossilieren (Diagenese), könnte zukünftige Geologen daraus schließen, dass die Krabbe schon längere Zeit am Fundort tot war, bevor sie von weiterem Sediment überdeckt wurde.
