| Description |
English: A performance of the orchestral work w:Des canyons aux étoiles… by w:Olivier Messiaen. On the left can be seen some of the more unusual percussion instruments called for in the score, such as the w:wind machine and w:thunder sheet.
Photo taken at a concert at Warner Concert Hall, in Bibbins Hall, w:Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Oberlin, w:Ohio, w:United States (the Ohio premiere of the work). The performing group is The Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, dir. w:Timothy Weiss. The w:xylorimba soloist (seated) is Jennifer Torrence, the w:glockenspiel player is Sindre Saetre, and the w:piano soloist is Robert Shannon. |
