Description

Capela da Boa-Nova, em Leça da Palmeira

A Capela da Boa-Nova ou Ermida de S. Clemente das Penhas, foi fundada em 1392 pelos franciscanos, havendo relatos da sua existência em 1369. Neste local existiu um mosteiro franciscano, um século depois foi sendo demolido aos poucos ficando esta Capela e dois anexos, sendo duas celas onde vivia um frade que zelaria pela Ermida e um pequeno cemitério de frades. O interior tem um retábulo de talha estilo joanino com quatro colunas e três nichos e respectivas imagens, o central tem a imagem da Senhora de Boa Nova em madeira policromada os interessados recorrem a ela no bom sucesso dos navegantes ausentes, São João Baptista em madeira policromada advogado das doenças da cabeça, São Clemente imagem em pedra de ançã policromada sendo esta a imagem
