Title |
English: Car #1 of the Rainier Power and Railway Co. with investor David T. Denny, near Lake Union, Seattle, ca. 1883-1893 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
English: Written on verso: Presented by D. Denny. See also A. Curtis 63419 David T. Denny posing with motorman on front platform; at right on end platform is David Denny, Jr. Assuming this streetcar really did go to Latona & Brooklyn (now known as the University District or "U. District"), this can't be earlier than 1891 when the streetcar bridge was built at Latona. Before that, the streetcar didn't cross the water. 1893 is a latest date, because David Denny and his Rainier Power and Railway Co. went broke in the Panic of 1893. Seattle Public Library Special Collections says 1892. |
