Summary[edit]

Description
English: Illustration by Lucien Métivet (credited as "Luc") depicting the title character of Bizet's opera Carmen, published in Journal Amusant, 15 July 1911, page 16. The image, held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France, is marked "domaine public." Note: This file was previously labeled "1875" by a Wiki contributor because that is when the opera premiered, and because the full-color scan located here is undated (part of a collection of 36 miscellaneous scanned artifacts related to Bizet's opera Carmen). However, the black-and-white scan located here proves that this page originates with the 15 July 1911 issue of Journal Amusant on page 16.
