Description
Français : Carpeaux au travail, Antoine Bourdelle (Montauban, 1861 - Le Vésinet, 1929), signé au dos, cire perdue A A Hébrard. Fonte unique, 1910 Ce portrait tout en mouvement de Carpeaux (1827-1875), grand sculpteur du Second Empire qui a notamment réalisé La Danse pour la façade de l’Opéra Garnier, évoque l'acte de création du sculpteur. Debout, vêtu d'une ample blouse de travail, il tient d’une main une boule de terre glaise, de l'autre la première ébauche et un maillet repose à ses pieds. Bourdelle rend ici hommage à l'artiste et à son œuvre.
