Description
Deutsch: Carl Gustav Carus (1789 - 1869) war ein Dresdner Arzt, Maler, Philosoph und Schriftsteller . Sein Schwiegersohn, der Bildhauer Ernst Rietschel schuf dieses Porträt-Medaillon im Jahre 1845. Ein Bronzeabguss schmückt die Carus- Grabstätte auf dem Trinitatisfriedhof in Dresden, ein weiterer Abguss befindet sich im Treppenhaus des Rektoratsgebäudes der Medizinischen Fakultät, die seinen Namen trägt auf der Fiedlerstraße in Dresden.
