English: Carved ivory panel. Left, winged man thrusting a long sword into a rampant lion's chest. Right, a man thrusting a long sword into a winged griffin's open beak. Both pieces were joined together. Excavated by a BISI team in the mid-20th century CE. Neo-Assyrian period, 9th-7th centuries BCE. From Room SW37 at Fort Shalmaneser, Nimrud, Iraq. Iraq Museum.
