Description

President Obama presented the 2012 National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation laureates with their medals at a White House ceremony on Nov. 20, 2014. The medals are the nation’s highest honors for achievement and leadership in advancing the fields of science and technology. May Berenbaum of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign received the National Medal of Science for “pioneering studies on chemical co-evolution and the genetic basis of insect-plant interactions and for enthusiastic commitment to public engagement that inspires others about the wonders of science.” Find out more about the recipients of the National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation in this NSF press release.
