Cemetery Of Stones |
Description |
500px provided description: This ravine (Ravin de l'Alpet, Ailefroide, France) is filled with rocks fallen from steep walls one kilometer above the valley floor. The place is actually called a cemeterary (Cimeti?re des Vaudois), but not because of the perpetual erosion of the mountain slopes. It was one of several locations where the French Catholic Church massacred Waldensians who had sought refuge in the mountains.
