| Description |
The picture was taken from about 2.5 to 3 miles away. Here's what we see, starting from the bottom left: Westminster Abbey; to it's right is the Palace of Westminster (the Parliament building) and the tower containing Big Ben (I see the time was twelve minutes past one); above those two buildings is the Foreign and Commonwealth office - with Downing Street hidden immediately past that. The sandy coloured area beyond that is Horse Guards Parade. To the right, the building with the four green roofs is the Ministry of Defence. The street between those buildings is Whitehall, with red London busses on it. Near the top centre, at the far end of Whitehall is Trafalgar Square with Nelson's Column clearly visible. |
