Summary[edit]
DescriptionChateau Les Milandes.jpg |
English: Home of Josephine Baker who was first black American to dance on the stage of the Follies Bergeres in Paris. The building was bought as a home for her children. The children were called "The Rainbow Tribe" as she adopted many from all race and culture. Alas after a life of plenty she became bankrupt and lost her home. This chateau shines like gold in the sunshine. It is a magic place to visit. |

On top of a wonderful limestone cliff in the Dordogne region 24. The Dordogne river is below and the views from the chateau are superb. The grounds are formal and the museum is a mixture of Josephine Bakers life as a dancer and as a spy during WW2. The interior was restored to its former glory after a water leak in 2008.
