| Description |
English: Cheapside Street. Eaglesham Cross looking along Cheapside Street. There was a post office, butcher and general store here at one time; the buildings being converted back to dwelling houses in the twentieth century. Alexander Johnston who owned Sunnyside Nursery had a grocery shop on the corner. Next door was the Post Office. A Bulloch & Co. had a grocery shop at 3 Cheapside Street. Further down the street and set-back from the line of buildings, is a house which is a miniature of Polnoon Lodge 1450255 and was once occupied by the Eaglesham Estate factor. A cast-iron finger post 1530094 can be seen at the corner of Cheapside Street and Gilmour Street. |
