| Description |
English: Chelsea Bridge The current bridge was opened in 1937 at a cost of £365,000, replacing an earlier bridge of 1858. It was designed by G. Topham Forest, the consulting engineers were Rendel Palmer and Tritton, and it was built by Holloway Brothers (London) Ltd. It a steel suspension bridge with the abutments and these river piers of granite. The overall length between the abutments is 698 feet or 213 metres. |
