| Description |
Chemins de fer de l'Hérault - Locomotive 040T Schneider D-70 en 1947 après reconstruction partielle et montage du TIA. L'histoire de cette machine est remarquable par rapport à celles de la même série. Mise en service en 1902, elle est équipée du frein Westinghouse en 1937. Très endommagée le 23 août 1947 lors du dramatique accident du Pont-des-Salins, elle est partiellement reconstruite par les ateliers de Chaptal à Montpellier et équipée du TIA. Un indicateur-enregistreur de vitesse Hausshaelter est monté en 1952 pour lui permettre de circuler sur les voies de la SNCF. A la fermeture du réseau, en 1968, elle est achetée par la municipalité de Palavas-les-Flots et exposée, d'abord à la gare puis au port fluvial, avant d'être mise à l'abri au musée du train où elle est restaurée en état de présentation. On peut la voir actuellement en livrée verte & noire à filets rouges comme celle appliquée par les ateliers Fouga de Béziers dans les années 1920-1930. |
