Typed letter, black text on white paper.

Eastern Office, Design and Construction Philadelphia 6, Pa. D66-LA April 9, 1963 Memorandum To: Regional Director, Northeast Region From: Chief Landscape Architect, EODC Subject: Preliminary Drawing, South Carolina Memorial, Gettysburg Enclosed for your approval are three prints of Drawing No. NMP-GET 3048, Location Plan, South Carolina Memorial, (Confederate Avenue), which was signed by Acting Chief H. Reese Smith on April 8, 1963. By copy of this memorandum we are forwarding three prints to the Superintendent, Gettysburg. The preparation of this site plan is a follow-up of my verbal discussion with Mr. J. C. Crouch and superintendent Wing on March 28. We developed the topo from cross sections obtained by the Park and transmitted to the Northeast Region on March 26. To provide a firm pull off area adjacent to the roadway, we recommend stabilized turf. To avoid establishing a precedent, we have omitted a walk from the road to the monument. (sgd.) Eugene R. DeSilets Eugene R. DeSilets Enclosures Cc: Superintendent, Gettysburg, w/3 prints
