Scars left on the Western facade by the Peninsular War

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ciudad Rodrigo, Catedral de Santa María.  The Western facade, facing what became known as the "Brecha Grande" (major breach in the city walls), still bears the scars from the Peninsular War (Guerra de la Independencia), first when the town was assaulted in 1810 by the napoleonic forces, and again when liberated in 1812.
