| Description |
English: Cluster analysis performed on an artificial dataset ("Mouse", similar to a well-known comic figure) comparing k means and EM clustering results.
The tendency of k-Means to produce clusters of the same extends produces bad results, while the Gaussian nature of the data is well recognized by EM. The visualization was generated using ELKI.Deutsch: Clusteranalyse auf einem künstlichen Datensatz ("Maus", ähnlich einer bekannten Comic-Figur) mit den Algorithmen k-Means und EM.
Die Tendenz von k-Means cluster gleicher räumlicher Ausdehnung zu produzieren führt zu einem schlechten Ergebnis. Der aus Normalverteilungen bestehende Datensatz ist dagegen ideal für EM, das die Daten mit Normalverteilungen zu modellieren versucht. Visualisiert mit ELKI |
