'Noordzijde van den overhangenden rots op den weg naar den Magneetberg met Melchiot en G.M. Versteeg (23 Augustus)'
Foto gemaakt tijdens de Tapanahoni Expeditie in Suriname. Tussen 11 juli en 30 november 1904 werd het stroomgebied van de Tapanahoni-rivier in kaart gebracht in opdracht van het Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap (KNAG). De expeditieleiding was in handen van de cartograaf A. Franssen Herderschee. Andere leden waren onder meer C.H. de Goeje (cartograaf) en G.M. Versteeg (arts).

English: Photograph made during the Tapanahoni Expedition in Suriname, 1904. The Royal Dutch Geographical Society (KNAG) conducted an expedition to explore the surroundings of the Tapanahoni River and to do research among the people residing there.
