Description
English: Conglomerate in the Mesozoic of Utah, USA.

Conglomerate is a poorly sorted siliciclastic sedimentary rock consisting of gravel-sized grains that are generally rounded (usually pebbles) in a finer-grained matrix (usually sand or mud).

This example of lithic conglomerate appears to be dominated by subrounded to subangular pebbles. Conglomerate occurs in-situ in adjacent outcrops, but I didn't determine the exact provenance. The area's bedrock consists of Morrison Formation mixed siliciclastics (mudshales to sandstones to conglomerates) and the Buckhorn Conglomerate.

Stratigraphy: talus derived from the Morrison Formation (Upper Jurassic) or the Buckhorn Conglomerate (Lower Cretaceous)

Locality: trailside talus block just west of the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, Emery County, Utah, USA (vicinity of 39° 19' 25.52" North latitude, 110° 41' 19.86" West longitude)
