Summary[edit]
DescriptionCopper mining spoil heaps. South Caradon Mine, 1978 - geograph.org.uk - 64594.jpg |
English: Copper mining spoil heaps. South Caradon Mine, 1978. These copper mine tips on the southern slopes of Caradon Hill were photographed from the road from Crow's Nest. South Caradon Mine was one of a number of 19th century productive copper mines situated around Caradon Hill. The line of the trackbed of a mineral railway branch line, that ran round the base of Caradon Hill, passes along the contour just behind the stone wall in the foreground. The transmitter mast is on the summit of Caradon Hill a kilometre beyond this site. |
