Old photograph of the crown of Suintila, a Visigothic gold piece that was part of the Guarrazar Treasury and was stolen in 1921

Español: Fotografía antigua de la corona de Suintila. La corona de Suintila era una pieza de orfebrería visigótica encontrada junto a otras en 1858 (Tesoro de Guarrazar). Su descubridor se la regaló en 1861 a la reina Isabel II de España. Desde entonces se guardó en el Palacio Real de Madrid hasta que fue robada en 1921. Está desaparecida desde entonces.
La fotografía no reproduce la corona en su totalidad: una cadena colgaba desde la parte superior de la pieza y, bajando por el centro, terminaba en una cruz que quedaba suspendida más abajo del nivel de las letras que cuelgan de la corona. La cruz colgante y su cadena también fueron robadas y también están desaparecidas desde 1921.
English: Old photograph of the crown of Suintila. The crown was a Visigothic gold piece found alongside others in 1858 (Treasure of Guarrazar). Its discoverer gave it in 1861 to Queen Elizabeth II of Spain. Since then it was kept in the Royal Palace of Madrid until it was stolen in 1921. It has been missing since then.
The photograph does not reproduce the crown in its entirety: a chain hung from the top of the piece and, going down the center, ended in a cross that was suspended below the level of the letters that hang from the crown. The hanging cross and its chain were also stolen and have also been missing since 1921.
Français : Ancienne photographie de la couronne de Suintila. La couronne de Suintila était une pièce d'or wisigothique trouvée avec d'autres en 1868 (Trésor de Guarrazar). Son découvreur l'a donné en 1861 à la reine Isabelle II d'Espagne. La couronne a été conservé au Palais Royal de Madrid depuis lors jusqu'à son vol en 1921. Elle reste disparue.
La photographie ne reproduit pas la couronne dans son intégralité: une chaîne pendait du sommet de la pièce et, descendant par le centre, se terminait par une croix suspendue en dessous du niveau des lettres suspendues à la couronne. La croix suspendue et sa chaîne ont également été volées et sont également portées disparues depuis 1921. |
