| Description |
English: The cosmic ray laboratory in Passo Fedaia, Dolomites. The Nobel laureates Fermi, Blackett and Powell were visitors. Italiano: Nel 1950 la SADE (Societa Adriatica di Elettricità) costrui' una diga per ottenere energia idroelettrica dalle acque di disgelo della Marmolada presso il passo Fedaia nelle Dolomiti, alla quota di circa 2000 metri. Per iniziativa di Antonio Rostagni di Padova fu costruito un laboratorio per lo studio dei raggi cosmici, che poteva quindi disporre di grandi quantità di energia elettrica. Fu quindi possibile sistemarvi un grande elettromagnete per l'identificazione delle cariche dei raggi cosmici, costruito all’uopo dall’ingegner Someda; giovani fisici di Padova come Bassi, Cresti, Filosofo, Guerriero, Loria, Zago, vi trasferirono una parte rilevante della loro attività sperimentale. I premi Nobel Blackett, Powell e Fermi vi lavorarono. |
