| Description |
English: Snow-covered crevasse at the Similaun glacier, Ötztal, Austria. Gap is from the middle left of the picture going up higher to the glacier's side at the rocks. Typical decline of the snow surface in gap area (esp. right part of the picture). Crevasse is following the mountain exposition as could be expected.
Deutsch: Schneebedeckte Gletscherspalte am Similaun-Gletscher (Ötztal). Die Spalte verläuft von der linken Bildmitte leicht hangaufwärts zu den Felsen am oberen rechten Bildrand. Die Spalte ist nur indirekt über das leichte Einsinken der Schneedecke sowie die homogene Bedeckung erkennbar. Die Querspalte verläuft typisch zur Hangexposition. |
