Description
Català: Crani de dona, cova Beneito (Muro), paleolític superior, solutriogravetià, 17000 aC. Museu arqueològic d'Alacant. Calota parcialment reconstruïda pertanyent a una dona adulta jove (20 - 25 anys). Presenta un front ample, volta craniana de mitjanes dimensions, gràcil i amb relleus d'insercions musculars, en general poc mercats. Pròxim a l'ull dret conserva una empremta d'un petit trauma cicatritzat. En el sostre de l'òrbita mostra signes de criba orbitalia (petits orificis en l'os) que estan relacionats amb anèmies, febres o processos infecciosos. Se li va practicar una intervenció en el crani al mostrar unes incisions en l'os realitzades amb un instrument de sílex. Això ha estat interpretat com a certes pràctiques rituals, així descrites per a altres exemplars coneguts de la resta d'Europa occidental.
