| Description |
English: "At this season of the year a christening gift to the baby friend is most appropriate. A creeping blanket never comes amiss. It is easily made, and, besides serving as a protection to the infant's clothing, it affords him much amusement. The blankets vary in size, according to the desire to elaborate in details. A blanket six feet square is a useful size. Use for the square, white linen or heavy cotton. Hem the blanket when the breadths have been neatly sewed together, catching the hem with feather stitching in a bright-colored embroidery cotton. Bright colors always attract and delight a child. Buy some of the pretty, flat, well-shaped cloth animals, cut them out, and sew them firmly to the blanket. The animals may be put on as a border or scattered here and there about the blanket." |
