| Description | A trip with work to Llandrindod Wells gave me the chance to travel on the Central Wales Line. Arriva Trains Wales Class 153 unit 153320 - working the 2V08 0914 Crewe to Swansea service, is seen arriving at Craven Arms, where the Central Wales Line diverges from the mainline south to Hereford and Newport. Access to the Central Wales route to/from the main line is via the up line (northbound), with a crossover just to the north of Craven Arms station, enabling access from the down line for south bound trains such as this one. As can be seen in the photograph, Craven Arms retains its signal box and fine array of lower quadrant semaphore signals. |
