Summary[edit]

Description
English: Crown Works, Crown Street This was built in 1909 as a warehouse for McCumiskey Brothers, who were rag and bone men, scrap dealers, and recyclers of just about anything. In the 1920's it was sold to William Coulthard & Co, engineers and plumbers merchants. Carlisle Glass took over the building in the later 20th century, and it was put up for sale again in 2007. (Much of this information taken from an article in The Cumberland News, 20/01/06). Behind the works is the back of the Vue Cinema, formerly Warner Village, which was built in 2000.
