Summary[edit]

Description
English: Crying of Linlithgow Marches. The town crier and his entourage stride out along the High Street. The purpose of this procession is to remind the "craftsman, burgesses and whole inhabitants" of Linlithgow of their duty to attend the Riding of the Marches which takes place on the first Tuesday after the second Thursday in June. The "Crying" takes place on the preceding Friday. Also 1351158 and 1351170.
