| Description |
English: Cycle path near Weston on Trent This well maintained path, part of the National Cycle Network route 6, follows the old Derby - Ashby de la Zouch railway. This section of the railway was built in 1868 and the line was extended through to Ashby in 1874. Passenger services were withdrawn as early as 1930, although the line continued to be used for freight trains until 1980. |
